Should You Pay as Much as a Celebrity?

Brightened my day today!

Should You Pay as Much as a Celebrity?: "From my new favorite website, Not Always Right... as in 'The Customer is Not Always Right.' If you've ever worked in retail or food service (as I have), you will especially enjoy it!

Me: “Hey there, can I help you out?”

Customer: “Were these products on Oprah?”

Me: “Yes, they’ve been featured.”

Customer: “Celebrities use them, right? So they must be really expensive…like $500 a pop or something, right?”

Me: “No, not at all. This one here only costs $40 before tax, and none of the products exceed $150.”

Customer: “So, when the celebrities buy them, they only cost $40?”

Me: “Yes.”

Customer: “And when regular people buy them, they only cost $40?”

Me: “Yes.”

(A moment of silence passes as the customer glares at me.)

Customer: “COMMUNIST!”

Black Friday

Time of the year is back. Thanksgiving...nope..Black Friday is more like it! However as we all talk about our wants and speak of how each of us has got the best method of attack at the stores, is it really worth the time and energy? Are the retailers getting a bad reputation and losing customers because of words like 'Limited Supply' or 'Limit to 5', etc.

I know I always talk about going, but after getting my computer Thanksgiving day in 2005, and taking my cousin to Circuit City the following morning because he wanted a laptop. We get there and stand in line to be helped for a computer, they had some outtdated POS systems, but that's besides the point. After wasting a few hours standing there all of a sudden the lights go out, everyone is just standing there, since it's pitch dark. We later learned it was a power outage in the whole grid area. We left and he did not get a computer. :-(

Oprah to end talk show in 2011

Oprah to end talk show in 2011: "Oprah Winfrey will announce on Friday's 'The Oprah Winfrey Show' that she will end her talk show, said a spokesman for Winfrey's Harpo Productions."

Oh no...now what are we going to have to revert to. I was never an avid watcher, but I would catch it every now and then, but now I feel as if I'm going to miss it. She was an inspiration to many in various ways!

Airline space

For all those short people...maybe this may not be of concern. However for those tall long legged people...this may be of concern. I just read an article on WSJ, where they are putting more seats into airlines, thus reducing leg room. Again the price is not going to drop...So basically now we don't get food, pay for something to drink on some flights, still continue to pay for checking bags, not to mention that we can't carry more than 3oz bottles in carry-on luggage...is there any room for negotiations with the industry. is it me or does this seem like a one-way street for the airlines to do whatever they want! As you can hear my frustration for 'unfair-ness'....thoughts????

Wedding Day: I was steady as could be on the day of the wedding. The nervous jitters and the feeling of queasiness I may have felt for a split second as I approached the ballroom. However it was soon gone and I noticed how beautifully the area was decorated. The mandap and decorations were truly marvelous! I was truly happy with the occasion and the setup. All the guests were happy with everything. Now a week after the wedding the most asked question is, so 'How is married life?' Gosh it seems to be the same for right now...ask me a few days later. However I have to share some pics with you. My favorite is the one with my niece!
